I have had several lessons with Affinity Driving School under the instruction of Suresh. I would thoroughly recommend Peter as a driving instructor. I was referred to him having had over two years of driving lessons, four different instructors and two failed tests. Peter has an excellent teaching style. “Affinity lead me out of my comfort zone and taught me to deal with all the things I was uncomfortable with.”

I had been trying to learn how to drive with different driving instructors on and off for eight years, with long periods in-between where I had given up and came to believe that I was incapable. After miserably failing my first test with a different instructor, I found Affinity on Google had a few lessons with Suresh where I was lead out of my comfort zone and taught how to deal with all of the things I was anxious about (roundabouts, reversing around a corner and bay parking). I was taught systematically and at a pace where I could absorb the detail and understand what I needed to do in order to pass the driving test.

My erratic work schedule was not a problem as Suresh would always be happy to do lessons very early in the morning. I had learned much more with him in half the time compared to my previous instructors and have been recommending him to friends ever since.

“Ivan was more of a coach and mentor than an instructor”

After having a bad experience with another instructor, I met Ivan Flanagan who was patient, understanding and methodical in his approach to instructing me. Having a full time job Ivan was always flexible with timings of lessons and on a number of occasions it was close on 19:30 when we completed. What I liked most about Ivan was his approach and teaching style; he was more of coach and mentor then an instructor. Always talking through manoeuvres, via the use of diagrams prior to doing them which was a massive help. And after every lesson Ivan wanted feedback from me on how I felt the lesson went and what I felt we needed to focus on at our next lessons ‘’after which Ivan would give his feedback’’, which built my confidence. Confidence is what you need to pass your test and that is what Ivan instills in you.

“Mission Impossible”

I presented Suresh of Affinity Driving School with a Mission Impossible.  To help me pass my driving test with only 6 lessons before the test date, which happened to be only one day before my theory test was to expire.  I hadn't driven in London for more than ten years and my previous two attempts had failed, miserably about 15 years ago.  Worse, I was now a motorcyclist. So the challenge was to polish all my previous 30 years of driving vices acquired all over the world in only 6 lessons in Camberwell, London. A tall order. I had Suresh as my driving instructor. He is undoubtedly one of the best in business. What I liked about him was his professionalism. Unlike most other schools who are trying to fleece you by asking you to sign up for more classes than you need, Suresh told me during our first class that I needed another couple of classes since I had been driving abroad for the last 8 years. He understands your weak points well and will drill it down your head till you amend them. I found his constructive criticism very helpful. He's well spoken and doesn't get upset even if you keep committing the same mistake. All in all, I would unreservedly recommend him to anyone looking for a competent driving instructor.
