He makes his student feel comfortable behind the wheel and doesn't waste time doing things the student knows how to do already. Choosing Your Instructor
Male or Female
It may be important for the student to have a female instructor. There are far fewer female instructors than male in the UK, and so they are often in high demand.
If you would like a female instructor look for a driving school where there is one available.
Smoker
If you cannot stand the smell of cigarette smoke, it might be worth checking that your instructor is a non-smoker. Although they wouldn’t be allowed to smoke in the car, it might still be worth asking about.
