I am writing to thank the school for providing me with the skills to pass my driving test.
Having failed my driving test twice thirteen years ago and having not been behind the wheel since, I was quite wary about trying again. But my instructor, Martin, made me feel completely at ease. The course had more structure than my lessons years ago and, I have to say, the professionalism and manner in which Martin teaches had me wishing I'd been able to learn from someone like him from the start. I think he must be the most patient person I have met!”

Areas to do controls/Moving off & Stopping
There are a number of quiet residential streets in Wandsworth where the student can get used to the controls of the car, and moving off and stopping. St Ann’s Hill is a road with little traffic to practice.
Left/Right turns and emerging at T-Junctions
Affinity Driving School recommends the following circuit for carrying out turns and emerging at T-junctions:
Begin on St Ann’s Hill driving away from Wandsworth High Street. At the end of the road turn left onto Allfarthing Lane and then take the third left onto St. Ann’s Crescent and follow the road around. Take the third right on to Rosehill Road and drive until reaching the end of the road. From here turn right which will bring you onto Geraldine Road. At the end of this road, turn right again onto Allfarthing Lane and then take the next right back onto St Ann’s Crescent. Continue along this road until the junction at the end and then left back onto St Ann’s Hill.
This circuit provides a good, quiet route to practice steering, MSPSL and peep and creep techniques.
Meeting Traffic
Dault Road provides a good place to learn about meeting traffic. This is when a road is two-way however there is only room for one car to pass at a time. The student must learn about the body language of the other car in order to master this important technique.
Roundabouts
At the intersection of Heathfield Road, Wandsworth Common West Side and Allfarthing Lane the student will find a roundabout where a good understanding of how to negotiate and cross them safely can be gained. Priorities and the appropriate signals to use can be practiced here.
Pedestrian Crossings and use of Signals
Garratt Lane has plenty of pedestrian crossings and signals for the student to become comfortable and familiar with in Wandsworth.
Areas to do Maneuvers
St Ann’s Hill would be a suitable place to practice the turn in the road and parallel parking. For Reversing around a corner, the student could use the corner where St Ann’s Hill and Jeypore Road meet.
