I am writing to thank the school for providing me with the skills to pass my driving test.
Having failed my driving test twice thirteen years ago and having not been behind the wheel since, I was quite wary about trying again. But my instructor, Martin, made me feel completely at ease. The course had more structure than my lessons years ago and, I have to say, the professionalism and manner in which Martin teaches had me wishing I'd been able to learn from someone like him from the start. I think he must be the most patient person I have met!”

Areas to do Controls/Moving off & Stopping
It is best to start this subject on a quiet road like Braycourt Avenue.
Left/Right turns and emerging at T-Junctions
ADS recommend doing a circuit which starts on Braycourt Avenue emerges left on to Cottimore Lane and then emerges right and takes the first left on to Stuart Avenue. Taking the first right on to Cottimore Avenue and following the road to the right we can then emerge right on to Cottimore Avenue and take the first left back on to Braycourt Avenue. This allows the learner to practice steering, MSPSL and Peep and Creep techniques.
Crossroads
The crossroads of Sunbury Lane, Terrace Road and The Grove can be used to illustrate priorities and the extra observation applied at crossroads. This junction can also be used to provide instruction on the methods of turning right-to-right at a crossroads.
Meeting Traffic
Meeting traffic is a situation where two vehicles are trying to pass through a space where only one car can pass. In these situations it is often vital to read the body language of the other vehicle. This is especially so where there are cars on both sides of the road and no priority exists. Manor Road is perfect to develop experience and understanding of this difficult topic.
Roundabouts
The roundabout where Sidney Road and Rydens Road come together; can be used to illustrate priorities, methods of positioning and the appropriate signals for a given exit.
Pedestrian Crossings and use of Signals
Driving down New Zealand Avenue or High Street there are plenty of crossings which can be used to demonstrate the various different types of crossings and the rules applying to road markings. Planning issues can also be addressed on this routes.
Areas to do manoeuvres
The Reverse around the Corner exercise can be carried out in Shaw Drive. The parallel park can be done in Willowhayne Drive. The Turn in the Road is easily demonstrated on Vanbrugh Drive.
