I am writing to thank the school for providing me with the skills to pass my driving test.
Having failed my driving test twice thirteen years ago and having not been behind the wheel since, I was quite wary about trying again. But my instructor, Martin, made me feel completely at ease. The course had more structure than my lessons years ago and, I have to say, the professionalism and manner in which Martin teaches had me wishing I'd been able to learn from someone like him from the start. I think he must be the most patient person I have met!”

Areas to do controls/Moving off & Stopping
Birchwood Road is a suitable and quiet road to practice moving off and stopping.
Left/Right turns and emerging at T-Junctions
Begin on Birchwood Road and follow it around to the left on to Chillerton Road. From here, turn right on to Spalding Road, and then take the second left on to Moyser Road. Emerge right on to Furzedown Drive and then take the very next left which takes brings you back on to Birchwood Road. Steering, MSPSL and Peep and Creep techniques can be practiced here.
Crossroads
Crowborough Road, Moyser Road and Furzedown Drive all provide suitable crossroads for the student to develop their understanding of this topic. Priorities and the extra observation needed at crossroads can be illustrated here. For right-to-right crossroad practice, try the intersection of Tooting High Street and Mitcham Road.
Roundabouts
There is a roundabout at the end of Church Lane by Furzedown Road where it is possible to illustrate priorities, methods of positioning and the appropriate signals for any given exit.
Pedestrian Crossings and use of Signals
On Tooting High Street on to Upper Tooting Road are a number of different crossings from which the student can gain a deeper understanding of this topic. This road also enables planning issues to be addressed.
Areas to do maneuvers
All maneuvers such as the turn in the road, parallel parking and reversing around a corner can be practiced on Birchwood Road, as it is quiet and there is plenty of space to do so.
