I learn to drive comfortably under the guidance of affinity driving school

My first experience with Suresh Dharmarajan as my driving instructor with Affinity Driving School removed any doubts from my mind whether I would be able to learn to drive. Although professionalism is practised throughout he still manages to make you feel comfortable, confident and motivated to learn and move on to the next skill required to pass the driving test.

Driving Schools in Stockwell SW9

We are delighted to be able to serve the area of Driving Schools Stockwell (SW9) with both automatic and manual driving lessons. Please see the information below which is intended to help develop your key driving competencies further. It has been provided by our fully DSA-licensed driving instructors.

Areas to do controls/Moving off & Stopping

Stockwell Park Crescent is a quiet street where the student can practice moving off, stopping and understanding and using the controls of the car.

Left/Right turns and emerging at T-Junctions

Affinity Driving School recommends the following circuit for carrying out turns and emerging at T-junctions:

Begin on the Stockwell Road driving away from the train station. Take the first left onto St Michael’s Road. Follow the road until it meets Stockwell Park Crescent. Turn left here and follow the crescent around to the right. At the T-Junction, turn right onto Stockwell Park Road. Take the next right onto Sydney Road until it meets the Stockwell Road when you turn right to end up back where you started.

This circuit provides a tried and tested method for allowing you to practice steering, MSPSL and peep and creep techniques.

Meeting Traffic

When two cars meet and yet there is only room for one to pass, this is known as meeting traffic. The body language of the other car is key to knowing how to proceed. Practice in Irving Road to gain a good understanding of this.

Roundabouts

Where South Lambeth Road meets Lambeth Terrace the student will find a roundabout where a good understanding of how to negotiate and cross them safely can be gained. Priorities, positioning and the appropriate signals to use can be practiced here.

Pedestrian Crossings and use of Signals

The Stockwell Road has plenty of crossings from which the student can gain experience on how to negotiate them correctly.

Areas to do Maneuvers

Aytoun Place provides a good place to carry out reversing around a corner. A turn in the road can be practiced on St Martin’s Road, as can parallel parking.
