I am writing to thank the school for providing me with the skills to pass my driving test.
Having failed my driving test twice thirteen years ago and having not been behind the wheel since, I was quite wary about trying again. But my instructor, Martin, made me feel completely at ease. The course had more structure than my lessons years ago and, I have to say, the professionalism and manner in which Martin teaches had me wishing I'd been able to learn from someone like him from the start. I think he must be the most patient person I have met!”

Driving Schools Hammersmith
We are delighted to be able to serve the area of Driving Schools Hammersmith with both automatic and manual driving lessons. Please see the information below which is intended to help develop your key driving competencies further. It has been provided by our fully DSA-licensed driving instructors.
Areas to do controls/Moving off & Stopping
For practice moving off and stopping as well as getting to grips with the controls of the car, try Aldensley Road.
Left/Right turns and emerging at T-Junctions
Affinity Driving School recommends the following circuit for carrying out turns and emerging at T-junctions:
Start on the Hammersmith Road heading in the direction of Kensington High Street. Turn left onto Wolverton Gardens. At the end of the road turn left onto Bute Gardens and then shortly after take the right hand turn into Luxemburg Gardens. At the end of this road you will meet a one way street which you have to turn left into called Brook Green. At the end of this road take a right onto Shepherd’s Bush Road and then soon after take another right onto Brook Green. This road is also a one way street. Continue along this road until you find yourself back on the Hammersmith Road.
This circuit provides a tried and tested method for allowing you to practice steering, MSPSL and peep and creep techniques.
Meeting Traffic
When two cars meet and yet there is only room for one to pass, this is known as meeting traffic. The body language of the other car is key to knowing how to proceed. Wolverton Gardens is a good street where the student can gain an understanding of this.
Roundabouts
Wellesley Road, Walpole Gardens, Heathfield Terrace and Sutton Lane all meet at a roundabout where the student can practice and get a good understanding of how to negotiate and cross them safely. Priorities, positioning and the appropriate signals to use can be practiced here.
Pedestrian Crossings and use of Signals
For the student to get practice negotiating pedestrian crossings use the Hammersmith Road for practice as there are plenty to be found here.
Areas to do Maneuvers
Bute Gardens is ideal for practicing a turn in the road and parallel parking. For reversing around a corner, try where Bute Gardens and Rowan Road meet.
