Driving Schools Esher (KT10)

We are delighted to be able to serve the area of Esher (KT10) with both automatic and manual driving lessons. Please see the information below, which is intended to help develop your key driving competencies further. This has been provided by our fully DSA-licensed driving instructors.

Areas to do Controls/Moving off & Stopping

It is best to start this subject on quiet roads like Grove Way or The Drive.

Left/Right turns and emerging at T-Junctions

ADS recommend doing a circuit which starts on Grove Way, turns left on to The Drive and then turns right on to Parkwood Avenue.  We can then turn right on to Cranbrook Drive. Emerging left takes us  back on to Grove Way. Taking the first turning left takes us on to Cranleigh Road.  Emerging right takes us on to Parkwood Avenue. We can then emerge right on to The Woodlands and turn right  back on to Grove Way.  This allows the learner to practice steering, MSPSL and Peep and Creep techniques.

Crossroads

The crossroads of Littleworth Road,  Milbourne Lane, Raleigh Drive and Arbrook Lane can be used to illustrate priorities and the extra observation applied at crossroads. This junction can also be used to provide instruction on the methods of turning right-to-right at a crossroads.

Roundabouts

The roundabout where Lammas Lane,  Esher Road, West End Lane and Drakes Close come together; can be used to illustrate priorities, methods of positioning and the appropriate signals for a given exit. Also try the Scilly Isles.

Meeting Traffic

When two cars meet and yet there is only room for one to pass, this is known as meeting traffic. The body language of the other car is key to knowing how to proceed. Practice in High Street to gain a good understanding of this.

Pedestrian Crossings and use of Signals

Portsmouth Road and High Street both have plenty of crossings which can be used to demonstrate the various different types of crossings and the rules applying to road markings. Planning issues can also be addressed on this road.

Areas to do manoeuvres

The  Reverse around the Corner exercise can be carried out where Parkwood Avenue meets either Cranbrook Drive or Cranleigh Road. The parallel park can be done in Blair Avenue or Cranbrook Drive. The Turn in the Road is easily demonstrated on either Cranbrook Drive or Cranleigh Road.
