I am writing to thank the school for providing me with the skills to pass my driving test.
Having failed my driving test twice thirteen years ago and having not been behind the wheel since, I was quite wary about trying again. But my instructor, Martin, made me feel completely at ease. The course had more structure than my lessons years ago and, I have to say, the professionalism and manner in which Martin teaches had me wishing I'd been able to learn from someone like him from the start. I think he must be the most patient person I have met!”

Areas to do Controls/Moving off & Stopping
It is best to start this subject on a quiet road like Avenue Road.
Left/Right turns and emerging at T-Junctions
ADS recommend doing a circuit which starts on Manor Green Road, turns left on to Christ Church Mount and then turns right on to Lower Hill Road. At the end of Lower Hill Road we can take the left fork of the Y-Junction to emerge left back on to Christ Church Mount. If we follow the road around we can take a left back on to Lower Hill Road. At the end of the road emerging right takes us on to Christ Church Mount. We can then emerge right back on to Manor Green Road. This allows the learner to practice steering, MSPSL and Peep and Creep techniques.
Crossroads
The crossroads of Manor Green Road, Ridgeway and Christ Church Mount can be used to illustrate priorities and the extra observation applied at crossroads. This junction can also be used to provide instruction on the methods of turning right-to-right at a crossroads.
Roundabouts
The roundabout where West Hill Avenue and Meadway come together; can be used to illustrate priorities, methods of positioning and the appropriate signals for a given exit.
Pedestrian Crossings and use of Signals
High Street and Waterloo Road both have plenty of crossings which can be used to demonstrate the various different types of crossings and the rules applying to road markings. Planning issues can also be addressed on these roads.
Areas to do manoeuvres
The Reverse around the Corner exercise can be carried out where Parklawn Avenue meets Eastdean Avenue. The parallel park can be done in Meadway. The Turn in the Road is easily demonstrated on the part of Riverview Road that is just off Ruxley Lane.
