"I overcome my weaknesses in driving under Affinity"

I learnt to drive with Affinity at my own pace and Suresh was flexible in his approach to teaching so it would suit me.
I was encouraged when disheartened and praised when I was doing well.
I was taught the theory of driving in tandem with its practical elements.
My weaknesses were targeted specifically one at at a time and in a focused manner, leaving me confident to sit my test with a methodical and calm approach.

Areas to do controls/Moving off & Stopping

Little Health Lane is the perfect road to practice the basics of driving such as moving off and stopping. It is a very quiet street where the student can also get to grips with the controls of the car.

Left/Right turns and emerging at T-Junctions

Affinity Driving School recommends the following circuit for carrying out turns and emerging at T-junctions:

Begin on Eaton Park Road take the left hand turn on to Links Green Way and continue along until you reach Heath Ridge Green where you have to turn left. At the end of this road there is a T-Junction where the road meets Links Green Way. Emerge right and continue to follow it until you come to the end of the road. At this point, emerge onto the Little Heath Lane and then take the first road off to the right called Somerville Road. At the of the road turn left in to Little Heath Lane and follow the road back to Eaton Park Road. This circuit provides a tried and tested method for allowing you to practice steering, MSPSL and peep and creep techniques.

Meeting Traffic

When two cars meet and yet there is only room for one to pass, this is known as meeting traffic. The body language of the other car is key to knowing how to proceed. Leigh Road and Copse Road are perfect for the student to gain a good understanding of this as the parked cars take up most of  the road.

Roundabouts

Portsmouth Road is where the student will find a roundabout where a good understanding of how to negotiate and cross them safely can be gained. Priorities, positioning and the appropriate signals to use can be practised here.

Pedestrian Crossings and use of Signals

For the student to get practice negotiating pedestrian crossings, practice driving up and down Portsmouth Road and High Street as there are a variety to be found here.

Areas to do Manoeuvres

Green Lane is ideal for practicing a turn in the road and parallel parking. For reversing around a corner, try the corner of Lebanon Drive and Sandroyd Way or where Benfleet Close meets Green Lane.
