I am writing to thank the school for providing me with the skills to pass my driving test.
Having failed my driving test twice thirteen years ago and having not been behind the wheel since, I was quite wary about trying again. But my instructor, Martin, made me feel completely at ease. The course had more structure than my lessons years ago and, I have to say, the professionalism and manner in which Martin teaches had me wishing I'd been able to learn from someone like him from the start. I think he must be the most patient person I have met!”

Areas to do Controls/Moving off & Stopping
It is best to start this subject on a quiet road like Greenways.
Left/Right turns and emerging at T-Junctions
ADS recommend doing a circuit which starts on Cavendish Drive. Then we can follow the road left on to Aston Road. At the end of Aston Road we can emerge right on to Hare Lane and then turn right on to Raleigh Drive. Following the road right leads on to Loseberry Road. At the end of Loseberry Road we can emerge left back on to Aston Road and so follow the road right back on to Cavendish Drive. This allows the learner to practice steering, MSPSL and Peep and Creep techniques.
Crossroads
The crossroads of Manor Road North and Claygate Lane can be used to illustrate priorities and the extra observation applied at crossroads. This junction can also be used to provide instruction on Staggered Crossroads.
Roundabouts
The roundabout where Claygate Lane meets the A309 can be used to illustrate priorities, methods of positioning and the appropriate signals for a given exit.
Pedestrian Crossings and use of Signals
Driving down Church Road or Hare Lane in Claygate or Manor Road North in Hinchley Wood there are plenty of crossings which can be used to demonstrate the various different types of crossings and the rules applying to road markings. Planning issues can also be addressed on these routes.
Areas to do manoeuvres
The Reverse around the Corner exercise can be carried out where Claygate Lane meets Avondale Avenue. The parallel park can be done in Claygate Lane. The Turn in the Road is easily demonstrated on Orchard Avenue.
