Having failed my driving test twice thirteen years ago and having not been behind the wheel since, I was quite wary about trying again. But my instructor, Martin, made me feel completely at ease. Areas to do controls/Moving off & Stopping

Left/Right turns and emerging at T-Junctions
Affinity Driving School recommends the following circuit for carrying out turns and emerging at T-junctions:
Begin on Chelsham Road, emerge left on to Union Road and then turn left on to Bromfelde Road. Continue along to the end of this road where you can emerge right into Gauden Road. At the end of the road emerging right takes you on to Larkhill Rise, if we take the first right we are on Sibella Road, at the end of which you can emerge right back on to Bromfelde Road. Emerging left takes us back to Gauden Road. From here you can turn left back on to Chelsham Road. This circuit provides a tried and tested method for allowing you to practice steering, MSPSL and peep and creep techniques.

Meeting Traffic
When two cars meet and yet there is only room for one to pass, this is known as meeting traffic. The body language of the other car is key to knowing how to proceed. Practice in Clapham Manor Street or Abbeville Road to gain a good understanding of this.

Roundabouts
Atkins Road, Weir Road, Clarence Avenue and Thornton Road meet at a roundabout where the student can gain a good understanding of how to negotiate and cross them safely. Priorities, positioning and the appropriate signals to use can be practiced here.

Pedestrian Crossings and use of Signals
Clapham High Street has plenty of crossings from which the student can gain experience on how to negotiate them correctly.

Areas to do Maneuvers
The corner of Sibella Road and Bromfelde Road provides a good place to carry out reversing around a corner. Also the corner of Elms Road and Abbeville Road is suitable. A turn in the road can be practiced on Park Hill, and parallel parking is possible in Bromfelde Road.
