I am writing to thank the school for providing me with the skills to pass my driving test.
Having failed my driving test twice thirteen years ago and having not been behind the wheel since, I was quite wary about trying again. But my instructor, Martin, made me feel completely at ease. The course had more structure than my lessons years ago and, I have to say, the professionalism and manner in which Martin teaches had me wishing I'd been able to learn from someone like him from the start. I think he must be the most patient person I have met!”

Areas to do Controls/Moving off & Stopping
It is best to start this subject on a quiet road like Somerset Avenue. Filby Road can be used for uphill starts.
Left/Right turns and emerging at T-Junctions
ADS recommend doing a circuit which starts on Woodgate Avenue, turns left on to Hereford Way and then turns left on to Ripon Gardens. At the end of Ripon Gardens we can emerge right on to Woodgate Avenue and take the first right on to Tiverton Way. If we emerge left we are back on to Hereford Way. At the end of the road emerging left takes us on to Stormont Way. We can then emerge left back on to Woodgate Avenue. This allows the learner to practice steering, MSPSL and Peep and Creep techniques.
Crossroads
The crossroads of Cheshire Gardens, Woodgate Avenue and Mansfield Road can be used to illustrate priorities and the extra observation applied at crossroads. This junction can also be used to provide instruction on the methods of turning right-to-right at a crossroads.
Roundabouts
The roundabout where Hook Road, Leatherhead Road, Mansfield Road and Bridge Road come together; can be used to illustrate priorities, methods of positioning and the appropriate signals for a given exit.
Pedestrian Crossings and use of Signals
Driving down Hook Road, Elm Road, Bridge Road or Leatherhead Road there are plenty of crossings which can be used to demonstrate the various different types of crossings and the rules applying to road markings. Planning issues can also be addressed on this route.
Areas to do manoeuvres
The Reverse around the Corner exercise can be carried out where Station Road meets either Rhodrons Avenue or Moorfield Road. The parallel park can be done in Moorfield Road. The Turn in the Road is easily demonstrated on either Ashby Avenue or Maltby Road
