I am writing to thank the school for providing me with the skills to pass my driving test.
Having failed my driving test twice thirteen years ago and having not been behind the wheel since, I was quite wary about trying again. But my instructor, Martin, made me feel completely at ease. The course had more structure than my lessons years ago and, I have to say, the professionalism and manner in which Martin teaches had me wishing I'd been able to learn from someone like him from the start. I think he must be the most patient person I have met!”

Areas to do controls/Moving off & Stopping
Try Limburg Road (off Lavender Sweep) for moving off, stopping and familiarizing yourself with the controls.
Left/Right turns and emerging at T-Junctions
Affinity Driving School recommends the following circuit for carrying out turns and emerging at T-junctions:
Begin on Effra road heading away from the train station. Turn left onto Rushcroft Road and continue along until it meets Coldharbour Lane. At this point, turn right onto Coldharbour Lane and then take the next right. This will bring the student onto Atlantic Road. Take the next right onto Saltoun Road and then take the next left onto Raffray Road. By taking the first right onto Kellett road and continuing until the end will bring the student back to a T Junction with Effra Road. Turn right onto this main road and the circuit is complete.
This circuit provides a tried and tested method for allowing you to practice steering, MSPSL and peep and creep techniques.
Meeting Traffic
When two cars meet and yet there is only room for one to pass, this is known as meeting traffic. The body language of the other car is key to knowing how to proceed. Buckner Road is a good street to gain a good understanding of this.
Roundabouts
The student will find a roundabout where a good understanding of how to negotiate and cross them safely can be gained. Priorities, positioning and the appropriate signals to use can be practiced here.
Pedestrian Crossings and use of Signals
For the student to get practice negotiating pedestrian crossings, practice driving up and down Brixton Road. There are plenty to be found here.
Areas to do Maneuvers
Where Rattray Road meets Bankton Road there is an excellent place to practice carrying out reversing around a corner. A turn in the road can be practiced on Rattray Road, as can parallel parking.
