I am writing to thank the school for providing me with the skills to pass my driving test.
Having failed my driving test twice thirteen years ago and having not been behind the wheel since, I was quite wary about trying again. But my instructor, Martin, made me feel completely at ease. The course had more structure than my lessons years ago and, I have to say, the professionalism and manner in which Martin teaches had me wishing I'd been able to learn from someone like him from the start. I think he must be the most patient person I have met!”

We are delighted to be able to serve the area of Barnes (SW13) with both automatic and manual driving lessons. Please see the information below, which is intended to help develop your key driving competencies further. This has been provided by our fully DSA-licensed driving instructors.
Areas to do controls/Moving off & Stopping
Lowther Road is perfect for learning the basics of the controls, moving off and stopping.
Left/Right turns and emerging at T-Junctions
The circuit we recommend for this begins on Barnes Avenue, then left on to Boileau Road, which is followed around to the left and on to Nowell Road. At the end of Nowell the road merges left onto Kilmington Road, and then you must take a right onto Stillingfleet Road. From here a left will take you back onto Barnes Avenue. Steering, MSPSL and Peep and Creep techniques can be practiced here.
Crossroads
Station Road, Mill Hill road and Rocks Lane all have crossroads from which the student can learn about priorities and the extra observation required at crossroads. Handling right-to-right crossroads can be illustrated here also.
Roundabouts
Where Verdun Road and Barnes Avenue meet is a perfect roundabout for the student to gain more experience. Priorities, positioning and correct signaling can be illustrated here.
Pedestrian Crossings and use of Signals
Upper Richmond Road contains a variety of different crossings and signals on which to demonstrate the necessary rules for each. This route also allows planning issues to be addressed.
Areas to do maneuvers
Where Suffolk Road meets either Parke or Berkeley road is perfect for practicing the maneuver of reversing around a corner. Additionally Suffolk Road is ideal for parallel parking, and Barnes Avenue for the turn in the road.
